Recently, I took my dog to the groomer for his hair cut/bath/nail clipping/doggie spa treatment. The groomer noticed he had a few fleas.
EW EW EW EW!!! I hate fleas!!
Out came the Frontline. I had slacked on the Frontline in recent years because I have not seen one trace of fleas on him. (He's also very much an indoor dog!)
Today was the bomb day. Closed up the house. Put away all food. Covered the kitchen counter with a towel. Took the turtle outside.
Set off the foggers.
And away we all went to the park, with the dog, for a picnic while the foggers did their work.
Got back, opened all the windows, uncovered the counters, and vacuumed the floors.
Fleas.......BE GONE!!!
Quite honestly, I only ever saw one flea since the groomer mentioned it last week. Fingers crossed that we caught this very early, before they had time to infest the house. :::shudder:::
Roll out the Red Carpet. NOT!

You are sooooooooo lucky not to be covered in flea bites! Those suckers itch for weeks. Glad they were caught and controlled.
Our new(10 weeks) puppy keeps itching but I think he had dandruff not fleas. L)
Ick.
Be sure to throw out your vacuum bag to keep them from getting out and back into your house. And vacuum again in 2 weeks to catch any fleas that hatched in the interim. And don't slack on the Frontline until after Labor Day at least. My parents own a pest control company and that's their standard advice.
Not to worry -- Frontline is back to being a monthly treatment for my poor little pooch.
If you have - like you said - just a few fleas and no other signs of infestation, you can use your cat/dog as a roving flea killer. Fleas are more attracted to them than anything in your home. Keeping up the Frontline for 3 to 5 months will rid the place of fleas without ever having to use environmental chemicals. All pets in the home must be treated. Once a month Flea/tick preventative also kills ear mites as effectively as daily ear treatments. It's just a good idea to keep it up!
We just switched to Comfortis...it's an oral tablet that kills fleas for 30 days. It was discovered by Eli Lily researchers that were on vacation...they isolated the bacteria from that produces the compound that kills fleas from sand on a tropical beach. It works WONDERFULLY and you don't have to put nasty chemicals on your dog or all over your house! You might want to see if your vet has a sample you could try??
Wow, we haven't had a flea problem in years, but when we did, we never went to extremes of fogging the house, LOL. We used a light trap, brewer's yeast, and daily combing. Sure, maybe it takes longer, but it was cheap and still effective.
I hate fleas. It was really embarrassing when the pre-school teacher called to have me take my kid home because she had been a nurse and knew chicken pox when she saw it! LOL.
Borax on the carpet and on fabric also helps kill them - and vacuuming alone is enough to kill the pests actually.
We've switched back to Advantage because somehow our fleas have become insensitive to Frontline. Blah.
