Happy Easter!
I'm now (almost) 2 years post op from my gastric bypass surgery. My exact anniversary date is in one week (the 19th), but I had my 2 year check up this past week at my surgeon's office.
My weight has stabilized in the 140-145 lbs zone. More often than not, it's right about 144. I'm ok with that!! I dropped down as low as 137 lbs at one point, several months ago, but that was when I was recovering from my adhesion surgery.
Size-wise: extra small and smalls for shirts, depending on the maker and the cut. Jeans are size 10, but are getting a bit baggy. I went to Fashion Bug (my ultimate, FAVE store), and tried on a variety of the "new sizing system" that they have. If you don't know about it, they have the jeans now in three body types: yellow (equal in waist and hips), red (waist slightly smaller than hips) and blue (hips and thighs larger in proportion to waist). The numbers are different on the jeans too. It's all based on your waist measurement in inches. Having not measured my waist, I was just trying on different sizes. All in all, the best fit was in a red, a size 5M.
Dude! I'm a size 5!!!! (Ok, not the same as a regular woman's size 5, but still....)
The rest of my clothing sizes are in general on the smaller end of everything. Do you know how difficult it is for me to wrap my mind around that....STILL?!?!? My instinct is still to go with the bigger, drab clothing. I hold it up to me, and it's way big. Put it back. Pick out something prettier and in a smaller size. Nope, still too big. Pick out something trendy and sexy and smaller still, and yes, it fits!
I've also taken to buying more "grown up" styles of classic types of clothing lately. The little black dress. Varying lengths of simple black skirts. Flowing, yet form fitting, professional/dressy tops.
Oh, and the baby doll tees. Can't forget them.

Congratulations! You are a true inspiration, and I hope you realize this. Keep stimulating the economy by buying clothes at "Fashion Bug". You will be considered a real patriot. Best of luck.
Congrads! I'm going to have to go to a fashion bug. Always having a hard time getting good fitting jeans.
Hope you had a happy Easter!
Happy surgiversary! You've done a great job, and really are an inspiration! Thanks for the info on Fashion Bug. The sizing system sounds like something I could definitely use as my waist is considerably small than my hips. I'm forever pulling my jeans up if not wearing a belt.
I would love to weigh that much! I used to weigh 135 pre-babies. Once I have the greenlight to lose weight after having this baby I hope to get down to around your weight, for my health and so I can go SHOPPING!
Love Fashion Bug, too, and Dots!
Yay!
I'm really happy for you! Keep up the good work!
I wanted to say that I am happy for you! I also have a question...Is it possible for the cervix to regress? Meaning could a woman be 5cm+, 100% effaced and buldging than have closed and long cerix after AROM? i WAS JUST WONDERING IF the cervix opens and closed like that
Babymagik18 - it would be pretty much impossible for a cervix to go from 5cm/100% to closed and long. Once the cervix is stretched out and open like that, plus fully effaced, it rarely regresses. Sometimes it might go down to 3cm or so, if the bag of water was holding the cervix open...but to go to long and closed? I highly doubt it.
Congratulations! It's been that long???? I have been amazed to watch you change with this experience...
By the way, I'm craving another baby, can you believe that with six already? I have actually had my 3rd AF in a row and it's been since about April 2004 that I've had three in a row (if even then) with babies and miscarriages...and nursing without a cycle. I cannot believe I've gone this long. My non-trisomy 18 baby (thank God) is now 19 months old already!
Blessings!
Dawn
congrats...
Congratulations on your success!!! I am very happy for you. Thank you for the information on Fashion Bug jeans!! I am built like the letter Y...it is so hard to find jeans! The waist on jeans are usually so tight and then baggy in the butt!! :0) I am heading there tomorrow!!
Hi! I clicked on you from Wife-Mom-Nurse and thought I would say hello and congrats on reaching a real milestone! And you should shop everywhere you can with your new HOT bod!!!!
Tarah
Congratulations on your successful weight loss. That is something I wish I had the courage to do. I just don't. I think I'm afraid I'll end up fat in the end anyway.
How does it feel to be so much thinner? Are you feeling stairs easier to take, etc?
Linda - it feels SO MUCH BETTER to be thinner and healthier! I can take stairs easily! I very rarely get winded (and I have asthma too) when I exercise. I used to get winded just walking.
