Well, I should have known that the lull on L&D wouldn't last. I should also be careful about wishing for a busier shift. Tonight was just......insane. Wall to wall pregnant women!
I had a multip who delivered about 2 hrs after I started my shift. An all natural birth for her. She did awesome!!
I then had two triage ladies, both needing labs drawn. Once their labs came back (normal), I was able to send them home.
Next up was a rule out labor lady, but I was pulled out of the room to go circulate for a c-section.
And thus, my night was full. From labor room to triage area to operating room. I did it all tonight!
Roll out the Red Carpet. NOT!

wow, sounds busy! I found your blog randomly when I (RN 1 year out of school) decided to learn more about L&D nursing as a specialty. I would love some advice on moving to L&D :-D
Yikes! Sounds like the bus arrived. I love/hate being busy ")
You did a lot for one shift!!
